For a number of reasons best known to yourselves, you might be stuck with more than one Skype account. Perhaps, you created one in college or school and then grew up to create another when you started working and now you have friends on both and have to manage them both. Of course, you can migrate all your contacts to one account, but that is time consuming and you may actually want to keep them all. So you are left with a Skype client that asks you to log off each time you want to switch accounts. If you have tried all else and failed, here’s a freeware utility that will make you happy.

The solution

A very simple to use application called the Multi Skype Launcher can solve your issues by allowing you to simultaneously log into multiple Skype accounts. You can set the preferences to automatically launch on Windows start up too.

To set this up, you will need to download the set up file from the link below and run the application ‘MultiSkypeLauncher_setup.exe’. A wizard will guide you through the rest of the installation process. Once installed, you can add accounts by clicking the ‘Add’ button and furnishing your credentials. You can remove, add or edit your accounts at any time.

To open an account, you can select the account from the list and click on the ‘Launch’ button. That account will open in a new instance of Skype.

This way you can open multiple accounts on the same computer. Each account would be in a Skype instance of its own making it ever more convenient to switch between accounts.

The freeware is compatible with most OS versions of Windows like Windows 7, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows Server 2008.
